I used to work with a guy whose favorite opener was, “The reality is…” It was infuriating because not only was he a raging know-it-all, but he was saying that the rest of us were living in some kind of fantasy land, unconnected to the “reality” that was so plain to him. You don’t grow a business by putting down your people.

Last night I spent most of the evening awake, thinking about what “epic” think I still want to accomplish with my life at 66 years old. For some reason your article brought me to tears – that hasn’t happened in a long time! And I am ready for a new adventure and very excited to start figuring out what it is going to be. Michelle can attest to my chivalrous nature. It is a learned behavior. It’s really not such a difficult practice to exercise either–hold the door, open & close the car door, etc. (Don’t get me started on the dearth of elevator etiquette in our society.)
Fellas: you wanna increase your chances of scoring with a lady? Treat her like a lady. Believe me, it works.
